Professional Auction Services, Inc. has added a new program for horses offered through it's auctions. The PAS Sales Stakes Derby Division is designed to add value to young horses and prospects. A one time nomination fee of $200 dollars paid by the date of the sale will make the horse eligible for any of the Derby Classes. The company's goal is to develop this into a $50,000 program.

Classes offered are:

Beginning in September 2008 and held in conjunction with the VQHA Futurity Show and the Eastern Fall Sale.

• 3 Year Old Open Western Pleasure
• 3 Year Old Non-Pro Western Pleasure
• 3 Year Old Open Hunter Under Saddle
• 3 Year Old Non-Pro Hunter Under Saddle
• 4 Year Old Open Reining
• 4 Year Old Non-Pro Reining
• Junior Open Halter Mares - (Yearlings & 2-Year-Olds)
• Junior Non-Pro Halter Mares - (Yearlings & 2-Year-Olds)
• Junior Open Halter Colts & Geldings - (Yearlings & 2-Year-Olds)
• Junior Non-Pro Halter Colts & Geldings - (Yearlings & 2-Year-Olds)

• 4 Year Old Open Cutting Derby
• 4 Year Old Non-Pro Cutting Derby

Eligibility

• Horse must be offered for sale through a Professional Auction Services, Inc. auction.
• All Sale Fees Must Be Paid. Including Consignment Fee, Commission, No Sale Fee, Pre-sale penalty, early arrival fee, etc.
• Nomination Fee must be paid in full.
• Horses scratched at the sale for veterinary reason are eligible. Approved Vet Certificate required.
• Horses scratched and not at the auction will not be eligible.


Nomination

• Horses can be nominated at any age prior to the event.
• Performance Derbies - Nominate as Weanlings, Yearlings, 2-Year-Olds and 3-Year-Olds.
• 4-year-olds can be nominated for the Cutting and Reining Derbies.
• Halter Derbies - Nominate as Weanlings, Yearlings, 2-Year-Olds.

NOMINATION FEE - $200

• Paid by Seller: payment submitted with Consignment fee, deducted from sale proceeds or paid on date of sale.
• Paid by Buyer: payment submitted on date of the sale.


Nomination for Horses offered through Sales prior to February 2008

• Horses sold prior to March 2008 may be eligible for nomination.
• Nomination Fee: $200
• Horses are subject to eligibility requirements, (see "Eligibility").
• Horses MUST be nominated on or before the class entry deadline.
• Late Nomination Fees apply following Entry Deadline.


Late Nomination Fees

• Any horse which was not Nominated by, or on, the date it was offered at the Sale, may be nominated with the following penalties:
• Nominated on or before Class Entry Deadline: Nomination Fee - $400.
• Nominated AFTER Class Entry Deadline: Nomination Fee - $600.


Show Information

Entry Fees

• Entry Fee: $200 for each class entered and paid by entry deadline.
• Late Entry Fees: $400. For Horses Entered after the Entry Deadline and before 12:00 Noon the day before the class is to show.
• Cutting Entries will pay a cattle charge in addition to the Nomination and Entry Fees.


Cutting Derby

• Held in conjunction with the PAS Cutting Series Summer Show and the Southeast Summer Sale.
• Sunday, August 10, 2008 • Entry Deadline: July 1, 2008.
• Eligible Horses purchased at the 2008 Southeast Summer Sale may be entered no later than one hour following the sale.
• Cutting Entries will pay a cattle charge in addition to the Nomination and Entry Fees.


Halter and Performance Derbies
(Halter, Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle and Reining)

• Held during the 2008 VQHA Futurity Show and the Eastern Fall Sale.
• Saturday, September 13, 2008 • Entry Deadline: August 1, 2008.
• Eligible Horses purchased at the 2008 Eastern Fall Sale may be entered no later that one hour following the sale.


Purse Distribution

• Purses will be prorated and allocated to Classes according to number of entries.
• Nomination Fees will be allocated to classes based on type of horses.
• Late fees will be added to the purse for the class.
• PAS will retain 10% of Nomination, Entry and Late fees for administration of program.
• Available purse money will be divided with 90% to owner of record at time of show and 10% to nominator of the horse.
• Class Payout Scale will be determined by Professional Auction Services, Inc. using NSBA, NCHA & NRHA scales as guidelines.


NOMINATION AND ENTRY FEES ARE NON REFUNDABLE

Exception: A Nomination Fee may be refunded for a horse withdrawn prior to the Sale which would make it eligible, for a valid veterinary reason or death of horse.

Professional Auction Services, Inc. reserves the right to change date, location and conditions of the Stakes program.
