Records were set in nearly every statistical category at the Eastern Fall
Hunter Sale. New same auction records were set across the board with the
largest increase coming in the price of the high selling horse, up sixty one
percent (61%). "This was the best Eastern Fall Hunter Sale we have ever
had. The quality horses drove this market" said Tim Jennings, Vice
President of Professional Auction Services, Inc.
The sale was led by a consignment from Sunset Farm, Inc. in Vincetown,
NewJersey. The three horses sold by Sunset Farm sold for an average price of
$11,833 per horse. "This was an excellent group of horses," said Jennings.
''They were all at least 16.2 hands, all had papers and they were all well
prepared and presented.'' Sunset Farm sold the three high selling horses at
the sale. ''This market will pay good prices for quality horses. Our
challenge is to prove to people that these auctions are a great marketing
tool. Sellers know when they will get a solid offer for their horse and they
know how much commission they will pay.''
The average sale price for the has risen at an annualized rate of fourteen
percent (14%) a year since the first Eastern Fall Hunter Sale in 1996.
The Eastern Fall Sale was produced by Professional Auction Services, Inc. of
Leesburg, Virginia. Professional Auction Services, Inc. was founded in 1978
by Mike Jennings and Tim Jennings and has managed over 160 Horse Auctions
