FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE32nd Annual Eastern Mid Winter Sale produces record high seller A record crowd of approximately 7,000 people watched a record high sale price at the 32nd annual Eastern Mid Winter Sale. When the gavel fell on Hip # 24 The sale price of $30,000 was called out by Auctioneer Mike Jennings for Our Annie Robin. Our Annie Robin is an All-Time Leading producer of Paint Halter point earners, and a World Champion Producer. The 16 year old APHA mare is in foal to APHA Leading Sire, Mighty Awesome. She was sold by Bob & Craig Cooper of North Carolina. The Coopers also sold the High Selling Mare at the 2000 Eastern Mid Winter Sale. Our Annie Robin was purchased by Bob and Tammy Mounts of Delaware. The sale was held on January 27 & 28 at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Virginia.
The weekend began with a party, sponsored by Professional Auction Services, Inc. on Friday night. The trade show, featuring nearly 40 vendors, was active all weekend.
The Eastern Mid Winter Sale remains one of the strongest show horse sales in the country. "Buyers can find more show horses and show prospects here that at any sale in the country except the World Championship Quarter Horse Show Sale." stated Jennings. "The horses with either show, sire or produce record and averaged $4,802." Jennings said, "This sale is one of the best places in the country to buy show horses."
The Sale was managed by Professional Auction Services, Inc. of Leesburg, Virginia. Professional Auction Services, Inc. was founded in 1978 by Mike Jennings and Tim Jennings and has managed nearly 165 horse auctions with gross sales of over $70,000,000. Auctioneers for the sale were Mike Jennings, Tim Jennings, Tony Langdon of Dallas, Texas and Joel White of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
